Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the center of a world-class
liberal arts education at Stanford University. The largest school
encompassing the humanities, arts, social sciences, and natural
sciences, H&S has 23 departments and 28 interdisciplinary
programs, and it is the university's home for fundamental and
applied research.Position Summary:We seek experienced candidates to
join the H&S Development team as the Executive Assistant to the
Associate Dean for External Relations and Director of Individual
Giving. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong belief
in the importance of philanthropy and is willing to jump in and
learn new processes and systems. The Executive Assistant will
provide day-to-day support to the Associate Dean for External
Relations and the Director of Individual Giving in their work with
university donors and volunteers. This position reports to the
Senior Associate Director for Development Programs and is part of
the H&S External Relations operations team.In this role you
will:
- Manage complex calendaring needs with limited or no
consultation, resolve calendaring conflicts.
- Negotiate and manage the needs of individuals or groups
requesting time with leadership, independently committing his/her
time.
- Act independently by establishing priorities and identifying
and resolving problems that are administrative in nature.
- Help manage tasks and workflow to ensure efficient and timely
delivery of work product.
- Serve as the liaison to various internal and external
constituencies, including screening correspondence and telephone
calls.
- Independently prioritize, plan, coordinate and/or oversee
logistics and conferences with individuals and entities internal
and external to the university.
- Compose correspondence; develop, review, and edit briefings,
presentations, and documents.
- Independently research and analyze associated issues and/or
compile materials as needed.
- Manage complex business travel, purchases, and financial
transactions in compliance with unit, university, and sponsor
policies.
- Create complex reports and spreadsheets which may utilize
specialized software and systems.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Anticipate and track
dates, events, and associated action items.
- Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and supporting an
environment of diversity and inclusion.To be successful in this
position, you will bring:Education & Experience:High school diploma
and five years of relevant experience or combination of education
and relevant experience. In addition, preferred qualifications
include 1 to 2 years of experience supporting C-Suite level
executive(s).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated high-level administrative experience which
includes advanced computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
editing and proofreading.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.

- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain
confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties with a high level of

tact.
- Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities and meet
deadlines.The expected pay range for this position is $42.79 -
$48.81 per hour.Stanford University provides pay ranges
representing its good faith estimate of what the university
reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a
selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of
the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal
equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable
