EverCharge is a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV)
charging devices and management systems and provides hardware and
software EV charging solutions for fleets, multi-unit, and
single-family homes. Our turnkey offerings are designed to utilize
existing infrastructure to scale EV charging at the lowest cost.
EverCharge's load-balancing SmartPower technology maximizes the
number of electric vehicles that can charge at once and eliminates
barriers, such as data connectivity.Founded in 2013 and
headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, EverCharge operates a factory in
Hayward, CA, which supplies EVSEs for its customers across North
America.Our Senior Embedded EngineerWill apply their broad skill
set to build cutting-edge firmware for our electric vehicle EVSEs.
You will lead your team in designing, implementing, and testing
embedded firmware within the greater ecosystem of Linux-based,
internet-connected, high-power electronics.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software
engineering teams to define specifications and features.
- Develop and support embedded firmware for RTOS-based devices
within a larger Linux ecosystem.
- Experience and knowledge of embedded software.
- Experience with embedded Linux build environments like Yocto or
Buildroot.
- You'll learn the industry protocols (e.g., OCPP) in-depth.
- You'll contribute to improving our charging systems software to
handle future use cases.
- Communicates with internal and external resources to understand
and formalize requirements.
- Works across teams to facilitate efficient development
processes and leverage team strengths.
- Develops software and/or firmware to match requirements.
- Works with QA to facilitate efficient
testing.Qualifications:
- B.E, B.S or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
or equivalent.
- Five + years of experience in developing embedded
firmware.
- Familiarity using Linux as a development environment, including
shell scripting.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience in the EV charging space is a plus.
- Experience working closely with hardware engineers is a
plus.
- Demonstrable ability to collaborate across organizational
departments.
- Solution-focused and superb problem-solving skills; ability to
apply reasonable logic to troubleshoot and resolve issues or make
recommendations to appropriate personnel regarding support-related
processes.Bonus:
- Experience in Rust.Job Title and Compensation:
- The base salary range for this position is between $180,000 and
$230,000, based on full-time employment.
- Actual salaries are based on several factors unique to each
candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience,
certifications, and work location.
