SPRC investigators are collaborating on numerous long-term projects designed to translate research into effective ways to promote well-being at every stage of life.
Located within SPRC and led by Principal Investigator, (PI) Ann Hsing, PhD, the Hsing Lab focuses on cancer epidemiology and prevention, Asian American health, and well-being research. The Hsing Lab is seeking an exceptional self-motivated, well-organized, and team-oriented Program Manager to join the team. Under the direction of the PI, this role will support, conduct, coordinate, and manage large population-based epidemiologic studies. The successful candidate will provide guidance to a team of clinical research coordinators, research assistants, and student interns. The Program Manager will also oversee the effective recruitment and retention of study participants and provide recommendations on how to improve study protocols to the PI and other senior staff. The ideal applicant should possess strong technical, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills. Past experience in epidemiologic field studies is a plus. The program manager is expected to work 2-3 days on-site each week at the SPRC office at Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto, CA.Duties include:

Oversee subject recruitment and study enrollment goals. Determine effective strategies for promoting/recruiting research participants and retaining participants in long-term clinical trials.Oversee data management for research projects. Develop and manage systems to organize, collect, report, and monitor data collection. Extract, analyze, and interpret data.Develop project schedules, targets, measurements, and accountabilities, as assigned. Lead team meetings and prepare/approve minutes.Formally supervise, train, and/or mentor new staff or students, as assigned, potentially including hiring, preparing or assisting with the preparation of performance evaluations, and performing related duties, in addition to instruction on project work.Audit operations, including laboratory procedures, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations; provide leadership in identifying and implementing corrective actions/processes. Monitor Institutional Review Board submissions, and respond to requests and questions.Provide leadership in determining, recommending, and implementing improvements to policies/processes; define best practices. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in engagement with Asian American communities and/or international communities.Experience with epidemiologic field investigations.Experience working with clinical laboratories on specimen collection, processing, and storage.Detail-oriented.Strong organizational and prioritization skills.Strong knowledge of basic statistics with strong quantitative skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience with online data collection methods (Qualtrics, REDCap).Experience with data management software (ACCESS, REDCap).Familiarity with statistical programming languages (R, SAS, Stata).Language proficiency in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, or Hebrew preferred.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience in clinical research, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Strong interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.Experience with research protocols and regulatory or governing bodies, which include HIPAA and FDA regulations, Institutional Review Board requirements, and Good Clinical Practices.Knowledge of medical terminology.CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:
Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification is preferred. May require a valid California Driver's License.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.

The expected pay range for this position is $84,856 to $97,021 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
