hyper-connected world. About the Role This role will be responsible
for leading the TPMs that partner with the compliance and security
organizations. This includes recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and
developing the strongest and most technical team of TPMs at
Coupang. Now and for the foreseeable future, a large percent of the
company's engineering roadmap is dedicated to projects and programs
owned by the platform team to improve reliability and scalability
of those platforms. Thus, this position will be both challenging as
well as a great opportunity to make a huge impact on the future
success of the company. This team has ownership of defining project
scope and driving delivery & execution. They will be deeply
involved in cross team technical architecture and can take on a
role in system design. They will also constantly be meeting with
tech customers across the business to better understand what the
platform team needs to accomplish next to unlock the potential of
Coupang's engineering org. You will be managing a team that is a
catalyst that brings order to the chaos of some of the most
critical programs at Coupang. Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver Coupang-wide
cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong functional & technical system design ability.
- Strong background managing compliance and security
programs.
- Able to dive deep into existing compliance limitations and to
consider those findings when thinking through the big problems of
scalability and reliability faced by users of Coupang's infra
platform.
- Develop solutions to improve productivity & efficiency for
Coupang's tech org.
- Strong blend of technical, business, and program management
experience that enables clear and consistent communication across
teams, project execution and great customer reach.
- Own, manage and deliver multiple large scale, complex programs
across organizations with ease of simplicity, taking teams along to
the path of success.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and
attention to detail.
- Strong cultural change management experience.
- The team is based in both Seoul and US West coast (Seattle and
Mountain View) so you'll need to be flexible in your working
schedule to accommodate evening hours as needed.
- Some travel (Once per quarter) to either Seoul, Mountain View
or other office locations will be required. Who we are looking for:
- 8+ Years of experience in managing engineering or TPM teams and
designing large-scale or complex technical initiatives on shared
infrastructure platforms.
- 5+ Years in managing security and compliance programs.
- Experience leading and mentoring TPMs.
- Flexible, agile and fast learner.
- Excellent cross-group collaboration, outstanding verbal and
written communication.
- Someone looking to make a large impact in their next role. Pay
& Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across
several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one
part of your total compensation. The base pay for this position
ranges from $159,000 / year in our lowest geographic market to
$324,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on
several factors including market location and may vary depending on
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. General Description
