The BeeHome is a complete redesign of the beehive with advanced technology. It allows beekeepers to remotely inspect and treat bees in real time, protecting them from the complex and interrelated set of challenges they face, including extreme weather caused by climate change, pests and diseases associated with monoculture, and shortages in skilled beekeeping labor that mean bees don't always get the best quality of care when they need it.
Position Overview:
The Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of Beewise's US operations. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a team. The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring the company's financial health and supporting its growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and objectives.
  
• Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  
• Lead the annual budgeting process, including the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts.

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
    
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports.
    
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financing activities.

      Compliance and Risk Management:

        Stakeholder Communication:

        • Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.

            Qualifications:

            • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
              
            • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
              
            • Experience in high-growth startups is required.
              
            • Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies.
              
            • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
              
            • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
              
            • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
              
            • Experience in the technology or agriculture industry is a plus.
