The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our small technology solutions development team. This is an opportunity to join a high performing team focused on maximizing the philanthropic impact of the organization and ensuring that the foundation's staff, grantees and partners can do their best work.
This role is critical to translating user requirements into business needs that shape our solutions roadmap. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to analyze processes, business needs, systems, and data to develop and deploy solutions that address business objectives.
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will elicit business needs and requirements from business units across the organization such as program, finance, and grants administration, turn them into detailed functional specifications, interface designs, and user stories. You will project manage all aspects of solutions development including needs identification; requirements specification; application identification and configuration; end user testing; and ensuring readiness for deployment. Solutions development may range from identifying a new solution to adding capabilities or new users to existing solutions. You will serve as the day-to-day project lead, managing the technical aspects of the solution and the internal/external team.
You will also evaluate technical feasibility and effort while prioritizing needs and collaborating closely with internal and/or external developers at every stage of the solutions lifecycle. The Technical Business Analyst will participate in identifying potential applications, testing solutions and bug fixes prior to production implementation and ensure change management best practices.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical aptitude coupled with excellent analytical, project management and communication skills. • Lead complex projects, including project management, execution, and delivery. Develop and manage overall project plans and teams for solutions development and deployment.

  • As needed, collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to identify, evaluate and configure new applications to meet business needs and satisfy technical requirements.
  • Support deployment with end users, including end user testing.
  • Manage knowledge by developing end-user documentation, including user manuals, training materials, help documentation, and providing support to users.
  • Manage software integration projects, including identifying and assessing integration requirements, developing and implementing integration solutions, and testing and deploying integrated systems.
  • Collaborate with other team members and other subject matter experts to establish and support the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Apply traditional technology knowledge to solve complex business problems.
  • Develop pseudo code, when appropriate, to document and communicate technical solutions to developers.
  • Model data/produce mockups to support business processes and systems.
  • Prototype UI/UX designs.
  • Use business analysis and product management principles to develop and implement successful solutions.
  • Review and understand the foundation's business, policies, and processes, including the Approach to Philanthropy guide to tailor comprehensive enterprise solutions appropriately.
  • Apply agile development methodologies.
  • A proactive rather than reactive mindset for producing a wide range of technology solutions.
  • Facilitate effective meetings including documenting and managing decisions and action items.
