The opportunity
You will design, build, and implement core software systems that leverage and improve the ngrok platform. The architecture already in place serves millions of customers worldwide. What you'll accomplish

• 
  
• Build and execute our roadmap for improving Cloud Edge functionality and the platform supporting it
  
• Utilize data to ensure decisions will increase customer satisfaction
  
• Lead technical decisions, building buy-in with the org
  
• Write scalable software for large user bases and high throughput
  
• Mentor other engineers in the org
  
  Skills
  
  • 
    
  • 5+ years professional experience writing quality, production software
    
  • Experience with best practices around Authorization and Access Management
    
  • Tackled role-based permissions for a large-scale user base
    
  • Must have Go experience or one of the following languages: Rust, C, Java or C++ (ngrok is mostly Go, with some Rust and Typescript)
    
  • A passion for growing and up-leveling your peers, with mentoring experience and a nuanced view around how to help junior engineers grow
    
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
    
  • Proven record of deploying high value software for large distributed systems
    
  • Prior experience in startups a plus
    
  • Kubernetes experience a plus
    
  • Depth in computer networking
    
  • Bonus points:

      Minimum salary of $160,000 to maximum $215,000
      Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), internal equity with other team members, market data, and specific work location.
