combines a solid technical background with a practical mindset and
hands-on aptitude. Ability to collaborate effectively in a
multi-disciplinary team is essential, as are strong troubleshooting
skills and the ability to efficiently manage project timelines in a
fast-paced environment.Responsibilities will include:
- Serve as a technical expert on Linac & microwave projects and
as a resource to other related projects at Varian.
- Collaborate and provide expertise to Manufacturing group.
- Linac & Microwave system design work.
- Provide advisory support to Physics and systems engineering
team.
- Work with other scientists and engineers to review and solve
difficult technical issues.
- Coordinate resources needed to complete a task or project.
- Improve documentation, baseline data and operating and
maintenance procedures.
- Provide scope, cost and schedule estimates for research and
engineering projects.Job Requirements:
- MS/Ph.D. in Microwave Engineering or similar field.
- 15+ years of direct experience in the design, construction,
implementation and maintenance of Linacs and high power microwave
systems.
- Linear accelerator manufacturing experience.
- Highly motivated team player who can also work
independently.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with experts in multiple

Max $259,900. The pay wage range shown is based on the job
