Archaeological Field Lead (Field Based) ERM is hiring
Archaeological Field Leads in the Fresno, CA area to support future
needs of survey efforts for energy-related projects in multiple
locations in Central California throughout Sierra and Sequoia
National Forests. Archaeological Field Leads will assist with or
conduct archaeological field surveys and/or monitoring. This is a
part-time (20+ hours/week), limited-term role for a duration of 4
months, renewable. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides technical support and monitoring/surveying services
for archaeological resources. Maintaining and submitting adequate
field notes.
- Effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Provides support on field surveys, report writing and
monitoring efforts.
- Compliance with corporate Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Performing other duties as assigned or required. REQUIRED:
- Archaeological field school or prior archaeological field
survey experience.
- Bachelor's in Archaeology or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the field with a Master's, 4+ years
of experience in the field with a Bachelor's.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on
varied terrain.
- Ability to work weekends and over 40 hours per week when
needed.
- Working knowledge of archaeological survey protocols.
- Ability to work in the field for extended periods of time.
- Must meet criteria identified in Job Demands & Conditions
Analysis for Office and Field Positions.
- Knowledge of California archaeology preferred.
- Demonstrated experience completing inventory, survey, testing,
and/or data recovery.
- Must have strong attention to detail in documentation of
work.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agency personnel
preferred.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Demonstrated business development abilities.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be locally available for projects.
- Must be able to walk long distances (up to ten miles per day)
in varying terrain under adverse conditions, including inclement
weather, wildlife encounters, and able to lift and carry up to 50
lbs., and able to excavate shovel tests.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate
